The 6 P's of Personal Marketing
Unless you're using every advantage of Personal Marketing , you're not achieving all of the potential success that is sitting there waiting for you to grab. Personal Marketing means that you're providing the right impression of your small business, right down to the smallest detail. If you want to be more successful in all your various endeavors- and especially in the case of a small business- you need to know the six "P's" of personal marketing. These are a set of concepts developed by business and entrepreneurship experts that give you the key to unlocking your potential.
PERSONA
Who are you? What is your small business all about? What kind of customer service do you provide? What are your business values? What are you proud of ? What makes you different from the competition ? These are questions potential customers and clients must answer for themselves in a short period of time. How they answer them depends not just on what you say or what kind of persona you have managed to convey to them. Your policies, atmosphere, customer service, integrity, and overall quality are all factors that you can usually control. Your business "personality" has to shine through , so don't waste time wondering if they'll like you. Simply be yourself and they will.
POSITIONING
Everyone knows you have to be at the right place at the right time and know the right people-right? While this is true to some extent, more important to realize is that you can put your business in the right place when the time is right and get to know all the right people. Positioning is how you do it- and this simply means you want to make sure you're always in the best position possible.
PACKAGING
Just like you make decisions about the products you buy based on their packaging, so do prospective customers and clients. They make a decision about your business as a whole by the atmosphere you put forward, the quality the packaging of your specific products implies, and the additional support, guarantees , and other peripheries that you offer. When it comes to personal marketing, packaging is a behind-the-scenes kind of preparation that's only really obvious if you don't do it, or if you don't do it right. If you've ever wondered how someone gets to be "the whole package" it's because they put the time and forethought into all the little things that many others overlook. Just a little attention to your own packaging can help you market yourself much more effectively.
PRESENTATION
Just as important as making sure you're "the whole package" is paying close attention to every aspect of your presentation. Again, this is a lot of little things that can add up to a big impression-and you always want to make a good one. It's an unfortunate reality in today's world that appearances do matter, and they play a large role in how prospective and current customers see you. Providing quality service, standing behind your products and services, presenting effective follow-up, and maintaining an overall professional and polite impression are all crucial elements of your presentation.
PROMOTION
Perhaps the most important element of personal marketing is promotion- shameless self-promotion. You know your business, including its strengths, what makes it stand above the rest, what makes it a good "deal" and what qualities you possess: it's absolutely crucial you convey this to potential customers.
PASSION
Last but certainly not least in the concepts that make up personal marketing is passion-for what you're doing, for who you are, and where you're going. Customers are looking to know you-so don't waste time trying to be something you're not. Instead, let your passion- your enthusiasm and energy for the job you're doing and the things you love-shine through and you're sure to meet with the kind of success you've always dreamed of.

Dislocation Of The Shoulder Joint
A joint dislocation occurs when the two joint surfaces, which normally sit in intimate contact with each other, are wrenched away from each other to lie apart without any relationship. Joints have a surrounding ligamentous bag called a joint capsule and this can be typically injured as the surfaces force their way past each other. The surfaces of the joints themselves can be damaged as they hit each other on the way to becoming dislocated. Other injuries which can occur include damage to the local nerves and ligaments.
Dislocations of the shoulder are the most common form of dislocation of a joint, making up almost half of all of this type of injury. The commonest form of dislocation is for the humeral head to be displaced forwards, known as an anterior dislocation. This occurs most often when the arm is out to the side, rotated externally and moved backwards and there is a forwards force on the upper arm, pushing the joint out in its position of vulnerability. A blow to the rear of the arm, a fall on an outstretched hand (FOOSH) and a strong outward rotation plus shoulder abduction can all result in a dislocation.
Dislocations backwards are not common and due to force applied to the arm when it is over the body and turned inwards, with epileptic seizures and electrocution being possible causes as the big chest and back muscles pull the joint out due to spasms. The joint can also dislocate downwards if the arm is moved outwards and sideways with excessive force, levering the joint out against the part of the shoulder blade above it. This type of injury needs careful monitoring as it is more likely to be associated with other soft tissue injuries such as nerve injury, damage to the blood vessels and tears to the rotator cuff muscles.
Dislocation can occur without trauma and in these cases the shoulder instability is often in all directions and more likely to occur in people who are hypermobile in their joints. This is known as multidirectional instability and is more common in younger people under thirty years old, occurring in both shoulders and tending to run in families. The joint problems may start with a subluxation which is a partial dislocation where the joint surface moves off the other one to some degree then snaps back again. Some people can dislocate their joint voluntarily and this may be connected with psychiatric difficulties in these patients.
Anterior shoulder dislocation typically shows by a patient holding their arm slightly to the side and turned outwards, with a palpable anterior bulge due to the humeral head sitting to the front of the shoulder. Muscle spasm around the shoulder can be powerful and severe pain results from attempting to move the joint. A backwards shoulder dislocation forces patients to hold their arm in close to the body and rotated inwards, with the head of the arm bone felt at the back. Misdiagnosis as frozen shoulder has been recorded.
Reduction of a shoulder dislocation can be performed in a large number of techniques but it is the time from dislocation to when the shoulder is relocated which is important. As the time increases the muscle spasm becomes more severe, making reduction more difficult. An old technique is to place the foot in the armpit to provide stability and pull the arm lengthways until the joint goes back into place. Less traumatically the upper arm can be moved away from the body and the head of the humerus pushed forwards. Once the shoulder reaches 90 degrees the arm is turned outwards and traction applied.

On reduction the aftercare for the joint is to use a sling for up to three weeks to allow the healing of the capsule.

Football 101 � A Girl�s Guide to Football � What�s In It For You
Can I tell you how tired I am of single women complaining about how hard it is to meet a decent man? The problem is not a dearth of quality men. In fact, I know quite a few single gems. The problem exists where the ladies are looking. You aren’t going to find the right man in a sleazy bar or pick-up joint. If you want a man who values integrity, honor, and good sportsmanship, then you have go where the real men are. In the fall, that means your local sports bar.
Football is the all-American game. If you can’t get into the game, you are shunning some of the best guys in town. Here you will find men that truly believe in honor, both on and off the field. Football players aren’t stereotypical big dumb jocks. They have had to work incredibly hard to get where they are, and there are no NFL players who haven’t made a true commitment to the game. The fans are equally committed to the game and their teams. So much for the common complaint that “it’s impossible to find a man who can make a commitment”!
Personally, I’m hooked on the game itself. I love the strategy, the element of surprise, and the emotion (and I’m not terribly opposed to cute butts in tight football pants, either). You may or may not develop your own passion for the game, but you need to garner a basic understanding of how it works if you don’t want to come off like a fool. Guys can spot a fraud miles away, so it’s better to admit your ignorance and ask questions, rather than try to pretend you know the game. Of course, this only works for so long and you need to bone-up on football if you want to hang with the boys. Start with the basics – you need to know what teams are playing, and it really helps to have a favorite. I’m a tried-and-true Raiders fan myself, but they aren’t for the weak-hearted, being the only team in the NFL that has to play against both the opposing team and the selectively-blind referees (personal quibbles aside, of course).
If you don’t have a favorite team in mind, you could simply go with your hometown team. Be it the town you live in now, or the one from which you came. If that doesn’t work for you, then you probably come from Cincinnati or Cleveland, and should pick a random team. I know women who made their selection based on which jersey color looked best on them, which logo they liked best, or which team their despised ex-boyfriend hated the most. However, you make your selection, choose your team, and stay with them through the good times and the bad.
Start reading the sports page. You need to understand what is going on in the football world. At first, very little might make sense, but keep reading and you’ll be surprised at how much you can actually learn. For a high level overview, listen to the sports segment on your local network news. ESPN has a great web site where you can always find the latest stats on all the teams. At the very least, try to know the latest disputed calls, injuries and controversies.
Get a good pal to tutor you in the basics of the game. I recommend choosing a male friend, not boyfriend, who is a patient soul. Also, you are best learning from a taped game, so that he already knows the outcome and won’t mind stopping the tape to explain what just happened. I was totally anti-football until a good friend sat me down with a taped game and a few brews. Thanks to his patience and understanding of the game I’m now a regular Sunday inhabitant of the sports bar. Don’t forget to check among your gal pals; you may have a hidden football fan in your midst. The bonus is not just a great lesson, but also a buddy to join you in your foray into NFL Sundays at the sports bar and football fandom!

In the high tech world of today, much of what we consider marketing is very inconspicuous. Messages are moving at the speed of light, and we are hardly even aware of what we saw or heard that ever made us think eating fast food meant getting good food fast!
Marketing is all around us - from the letters that appear in our mind when our stomach hurts. Yes, we know what spells relief to the jingle in our head when we think of the first and second name we give the meat in our sandwich. We have all done it, ran into the store to buy something, and called it out by the brand...not by the actual product name.
When was the last time you were thinking of something, as simple as coffee, and “Starbucks” appeared in your mind? This, my friend, is what they call "savvy marketing" and it's as old as the day is long. The reason that marketing has been around for so long, is that for some odd reason, the more we keep something in the forefront of our mind, the more we inquire, the more we "Google" it, and the more we buy it - it is why we think that we're wearing Levi’s instead of jeans.
Marketing is what people do to get us interested in the “brand“ of their product. Marketing is what causes us to dream and imagine and wish. When someone markets a product or service to us, they are helping us to get more familiar with it. They are asking us to be really comfortable with hearing the brand, saying the brand, asking about the brand and eventually, leading us to a place where we find a NEED for just that brand.
Marketing is the first step to a long-term relationship with any product, and the more product a person has to sell - the longer we may find ourselves involved in the relationship. Marketing is the most thought out component of any large selling campaign, because without this one step - the marketing - no-one knows that we're even there.
The idea that once they know us and we know them (which seems like forever) is when we are able to like what we hear and trust what they have.
Selling usually comes in right about here...the point of purchase. This is where we are helped to find the best solution for us. Selling is fine tuning the brand / product / service to fit our needs exclusively, and this is where some people start to shy away. Selling isn’t always up close, but it IS personal. Selling, if done correctly, can create a lifetime of loyal product / service users, and should always be done with the utmost respect, trust and honor. Selling is what helps a consumer to decide if this product that has been marketed to them is really what they need AND if the pain they have is strong enough to get rid of, or if the pleasure is great enough to invest.
Selling is the next step to that wonderful place called referrals, and that can’t happen if we haven’t been able to deliver what we marketed our product to do. Our job when we market our product or service is to create for our client a reason to want to begin a relationship with us. They need to know. just by the sound of our brand, that we are worth pursuing. Not only do they need to be comfortable with what we are sharing, they also need to know that over and over again until they believe it for themselves.
So, as we look at the way we are creating relationships with our future clients, look at the process in having them trust us. If we are skipping step one in relationship building (the marketing) then step two (selling), will be much more difficult - and step three (referrals & word of mouth) is then almost impossible.
We may have the greatest product out on the market today, and it may very well be the one thing that solves all of the world's problems, BUT, if we haven’t figured out how to speak to people in a caring and comfortable way, they will never get the chance to know us, and people who don’t know us will not buy from us!

What Do Women Really Want?
A common question men ask is what do women really want?
They seem to say things like "I want a nice guy" and then they end up dating a complete jerk. If they don't go out with a jerk then they go out with the "bad boy". When a man asks me that question, I ask them why do they feel compelled to have an answer to that?
Before a man can answer that question he first needs to be able to answer "what do I want in a woman?" Every man has a different set of beliefs, values, and preferences and he should really put some thought on how important they are to him. Using myself as an example, I'm at a point in my life where I don't want to be in a relationship.
So the #1 value I'm looking for in a woman right now is that she has to be fun and easy-going. Someone else might be looking for a woman that places higher value on things like family, communication, finances, etc.
Once a man has figured out what he really wants in a woman, then it makes it much easier for him to screen out the women that does not fit his criteria and he focus his time and energy on the ones that do. So we come full circle and get back to the common question that men ask me and that is "what do women really want?".
Every woman is unique and different, but over the years I've noticed some commonalities that they share. We are assuming that we are also talking about emotionally healthy women that are not dealing with a lot of personal issues. Here are some of the common things that women want?
1. Women want a man with a spine - A very common complaint I hear from women around the world is that it's hard to find a real man. What does that mean anyway? They are looking for a man who has his own opinion, who is not afraid to disagree with her, and a man who will stand up for himself and for her.
2. Women want a man with leadership skills - Whether it's going out for a night out on the town or in the bedroom, a woman wants a man who is not afraid to be the Alpha Male.
He's not afraid to lead. This does not mean that he acts controlling or jealous. On the contrary, a man who is either a natural leader or has honed his leadership skills because he has dated a lot of women, will know when and how to lead. A great way of leading is to give your date 2 to 3 options on what to do for that coming weekend and then letting her decide. For the first date, you should do what you like because this will help you screen her to see if she likes doing what you like to do.
3. Women want a man, not a boy - An attractive woman who is healthy and well-balanced does not want to date a boy.
She wants a man who has his own life, has goals, and ambition. He doesn't live with his parents, he has his own place, and does not have financial problems.
4. When she's ready she will want a man who can commit - When a woman begins developing feelings for you, she will let you know it. She will start talking about the future, either directly or indirectly. She might start saying things like "wouldn't our kids be cute?" or "wouldn't it be cool if we went to Hawaii next summer?".
When a woman makes foward-looking statements that hint about the future, then it's a huge sign that she wants to take things to the next level. Sure, some women casually date, but ultimately most women eventually want to settle down with someone. It's up to you to pay attention and listen to what she's really saying to you.
5. Women want a man with a healthy self image and style - Ever had an old girlfriend nag at you because you wore the same stupid baseball cap? Or maybe because you needed to trim those eyebrows of yours? Ever go to the shopping mall with a woman and she starts suggesting on what things you should wear? Attractive women want a man with style. It's obvious that women don't like slobs. Most men don't have a good sense of style which is why they should recruit a female friend or relative to go shopping with them. If that's not possible, simply going to a shopping mall and looking for the most attractive female clerk to help you can do the trick.
Having style isn't enough. You should also have a positive outlook toward life and your future. Women find that very attractive. No one likes a whiner or a complainer, so if you have a tendency to be negative you really should make an effort to get that handled.
